The Church of Nigeria- Anglican Communion Begins Its Bi-annual Standing Committee Meeting, which represents the highest governing body of the Church (The General Synod). This first edition for the year 2024 is held at the Diocese of Ika, in Delta State of Nigeria.
This Standing Committee Meeting will also be featuring the celebration of the 45th Anniversary of the Church of Nigeria- Anglican Communion as an independent Province of the Anglican Communion Worldwide.
The Meeting Kicked off this evening with an Opening Service at the Cathedral of the Ascension Boji-Boji, Owa, Delta State.
The Opening Service was Spiced with Powerful Intercessory Prayers and a Thought-provoking Sermon from the Host Diocesan Bishop, The Rt. Rev’d Godfrey Ekpenisi.
The General Secretary, The Ven. Dr. Gershinen Paul Dajur Spoke of Tomorrow’s Event which is Dedicated for the 45th Anniversary Celebration of the Church which Starts with a Eucharistic Service by 7 am (WAT) and will be LIVE on ACNNTV.
The Primate of All Nigeria, The Most Rev Henry Ndukuba rounded up by welcoming delegates to the Two in One Event. He thanked God for Journey Mercies and Prayed for Safe Arrival for Those on their Way for the Meeting.
The General Synod meets once in three years. The Standing Committee is an arm of the General Synod which runs the Church on behalf of the General Synod within the period of three years. The standing committee meets twice in a year.
