The Lagos State House of Assembly has removed Speaker Mudashiru Obasa from office following allegations of fraud.
The decision was reportedly made during a plenary session on Monday, according to multiple sources.
While details of Obasa’s impeachment remain unclear at this time, the Deputy Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, has taken over as the new Speaker.
Efforts to obtain comments from Obasa’s Chief Press Secretary, Eromosele Ebhomele, have gone unanswered as of the time of this report.
