The Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion has advised the general public and Indeed members of the Church not to associate with a church known as St. Matthew’s Anglican Church (Goshen) Nkporgu located at 49B Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt Rivers.
This was made known by the General Secretary of the Church of Nigeria, The Venerable Dr. Paul Dajur in a statement he personally signed and made available to ACNN TV.
The statement reads:
The attention of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion) has been drawn to electronic and print banners of one St Matthew’s Anglican Church, (Goshen) Nkporgu located at 49B Trans Amadi, PortHarcourt, Rivers State, purported to be under the Primatial Chaplaincy, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion). Be it stated and it is hereby stated that neither The Primatial Chaplaincy nor The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) knows or have anything to do with the said Church.
St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Nkporgu, Port Harcourt,known to this Church and functioning under the Primatial Chaplaincy, is located at 51, Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt and having properties on other locations within the city.
Anyone who does any business with the so-called St Matthew’s Anglican Church (Goshen) Nkporgu located at 49B Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt Rivers does so at their personal risk.
Recall that the Church was categorized to be under the Primate’s Chaplaincy after so many years of crisis with the SEE under which the church is originally located.
