During a familiarization visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Boro Town, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. Gen YD Ahmed, emphasized that the security and welfare of Corps members remain a top priority for the President Tinubu administration.
Ahmed praised the Corps members for their high level of discipline in the camp and urged them to strictly adhere to the Scheme’s rules and regulations.
Highlighting the importance of the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, Ahmed encouraged Corps members to actively participate in the programme to become self-reliant and potential future employers.
He also advised Corps members to take responsibility for their personal security by remaining vigilant at all times and reading the security tips booklet provided to them, while cautioning against posting NYSC activities on social media.
Furthermore, Ahmed warned Corps members to avoid unnecessary adventures and night journeys due to the dangers on the road.
Earlier, the State Coordinator, Mrs. Okpalifo Obiageli Charity, briefed the Director General on the camp’s situation, noting that the Corps members have adapted well to the regimented lifestyle and have shown a high level of discipline by actively participating in all camp activities.
