In a decisive move to address the escalating political crisis in Rivers State, Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun has summoned judges involved in conflicting rulings regarding political cases between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
To facilitate a thorough investigation, the National Judicial Council (NJC) has established a panel chaired by a former Court of Appeal justice, which includes two heads of courts. Justice Kekere-Ekun has mandated that the panel submit its findings by the end of this week.
Furthermore, the CJN has requested the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to appear for questioning on Tuesday.
These steps follow formal complaints lodged with the NJC, prompting Justice Kekere-Ekun to initiate this investigation.
