The Bishop on the Niger Anglican Communion Rt. Rev’D Owen Chigozie Nwokolo (Ph’D) has considered it necessary reaching out to five thousand families in the Diocese On The Niger faced with the current hardship as a result of the total lockdown order by both Federal and State Governments.
Bishop Nwokolo who unwrapped this recently at the Bishop’s Court, #8 Ozalla Road, GRA Onitsha, stated that the lockdown order has impacted negatively on families who he said find it difficult to afford at present three square meals, stressing that the lockdown order was actually for the good of the masses, but maintained that the church and well-meaning Nigerians should extent kind gesture to vulnerable families around them.
He, however, called on people, well-to-do to see the need to help poor masses, pointing out that it would aid a serious curtails on the restiveness among the youth.
Speaking shortly after the presentation, the most senior Archdeacon in the Diocese On The Niger Ven Obi Ubaka, the Archdeacon of Onitsha Main Archdeaconry thanked the Bishop On The Niger for the kind gesture, pledging that the Priests would ensure that the targeted families are reached. He praye God Almighty to bless the Diocese On The Niger.
