Church Will Continue To Pray For The Home As Her Essential Part – Archbishop Ibezim

The Archbishop, Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim says the church is committed to discipleship and support for families especially now that social and economic vices in the country are on the increase.

Most Reverend Ibezim stated this at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith, Awka during the 2024 Awka Diocesean Anglican Women and Young Wives’ Summit.

Themed “The Roles of a Godly Wife”, the event attracted members of the Young Wives Association of the diocese from the 24 Archdeaconries.

During the summit, the women receiving teachings on the power of prayers and equipped with different life skills on home management and how to deal with contemporary challenges in the home in line with the vision of the association which is to develop Christ-centered holistic discipleship model for mentoring young wives towards becoming virtuous women for effective fellowship and Christian service; and sustenance of godly homes and a better society.

Archbishop Ibezim who is also the Bishop, Diocese of Awka said the church attaches great importance to the viability of the homes as important units of the church which is why it invests so much in the training of women to raise godly homes.

Addressing the women, the President, Women’s Ministry, Province of the Niger and Diocese of Awka, Dr. Mrs. Martha Ibezim explained that the role of a godly wife reflects God’s attribute of love, grace and wisdom as she called the women to live in reverence to God, build their household with diligence and to support their husband at all times and as partners in the faith.

Earlier in his sermon, the preacher and Archdeacon, Adazi-Ani Archdeaconry, Ven. Chris Nkem-Okafor, asked the women to adorn their spiritual lives more they adorn their outward appearances.

A guest lecturer at the summit, Dr Hope Eze challenged the women to pursue God’s character and diligently walk according to his words, promising them that he will not fail them.

The event featured march pasts, presentation of trophies to five best performed Archdeaconries, special prayers and thanksgiving.
