Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, the Ogun State Commissioner for Commerce and industry has resigned his appointment from the cabinet of Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State.
Although, the content of the resignation letter which was submitted Friday is still shrouded in secrecy, but the action might not be unconnected with the governorship ambition of the Commissioner.
This is against the wish of governor Amosun who had, at different fora, threw his weight behind Ogun West producing the next Governor of the state.
Ashiru, on Wednesday, emerged the consensus candidate of Ijebu/Remo axis of the state under the All Progressives Congress, APC.
INDEPENDENT gathered from a source close to the government house that Amosun was unhappy with the move by the Commissioner.
Governor Amosun, it was gathered, express his unhappiness during the weekly State Executive Council meeting at the exco chambers.
But the source hinted that the governor might not accept the resignation letter as stakeholders have reportedly initiated moves to settle the differences between the governor and the commissioner
