Olayemi Cardoso, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), says the country will soon be free of its $7 billion foreign exchange (FX) backlog, as $2.3 billion has already been paid to foreign airlines and other sectors. Cardoso spoke during an interview on Arise TV monitored by TheCable on Monday. The Ondo State Chief Judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola has sworn in Okayide Owolabi Adelami as the Deputy Governor of the state. The swearing-in ceremony was held on Thursday at the International Culture and Event Centre, Akure, the state capital. Kidnappers of two teenage sisters in Abuja who demanded N30 million for their release have threatened to kill them if in 48 hours they did not receive any positive feedback.
