Following the shrinking fiscal space that resulted from the outbreak of Covid-19, the President of African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwumi Adesina has said African governments would need about $154 billion to close the fiscal gap created by the pandemic this year. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has successfully validated the first phase of the viral Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) extraction which would enable local production of cheap testing kits for COVID-19.
