In support of the fight against the COVID- 19 pandemic, the Anglican Dioceses in Rivers State have donated 100 pieces of Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) to the Rivers State government.


The bishops of the Dioceses Presented the Personal Protective Equipment to the Government on Wednesday 13th May 2020 at the Rivers State warehouse premises in Portharcourt. Presenting the PPEs on behalf of others, the Bishop of the Diocese of Okrika, the Rt. Rev. Tubokesemie Abere said that the Churches have been praying against the pandemic but decided to also contribute physically to curb it. He said that the donation is to assure the government that they are not alone in the battle against COVID-19. He prayed to God to protect all from the virus.

Receiving the PPE on behalf of the government, the Secretary to the State Government Dr. Tammy W. Danagoro thanked the Anglican Church in Rivers State for always identifying with the government and especially for the support given at this time of need. He said the PPEs will go a long way in helping the medical personnel at the frontline of the fight against COVD- 19 to do their work well.
