The Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Lagos West, the Rt Rev’d Dr James Olusola Odedeji has expressed optimism that the proposed Diocese of Ikorodu is predestined to be a reality.
He stated this while inaugurating the Implementation Committee for the planned Diocese at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Ireshe Road, Ikorodu.
According to the Bishop, “Ikorodu Diocese has been predestined and the Almighty that started the good work would get it completed in the mighty name of Jesus.”
The Right Reverend Odedeji urged members of the Implementation Committee to be focused and allow themselves to be used as a solid foundation for God to build His church.
“You should allow your names to be written in gold. You should carry out the assignment diligently, be loyal to God and be absolutely obedient to the constituted authority in promoting God’s mission,” the Bishop charged.
He later administered the Oath of Obedience and Loyalty on the members drawn from all the five Archdeaconries in the proposed Ikorodu Diocese.
Committee Chairman, Mr Tunde Gbolade had earlier in a meeting reiterated the commitment of the team towards achieving its objectives.
The Bishop had during a visit to Ikorodu on August 14, 2024 announced his intention to allow the Archdeaconries of Ikorodu, Ikorodu North, Ijede, Imota and Owutu constitute the proposed Diocese of Ikorodu.
