TOPIC: GOD’S WISDOM DISPLAYED IN THE CHURCH
TEXT: Ephesians 3:1-13(NKJV)
- 3:1. For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles
- 3:2. if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you,
- 3:3. how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already,
- 3:4. by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),
- 3:5. which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets:
- 3:6. that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel,
- 3:7. of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.
- 3:8. To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,
- 3:9. and to make all see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;
- 3:10. to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly [places,]
- 3:11. according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord,
- 3:12. in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.
- 3:13. Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
STUDY:
The Church is the body of Christ, with no distinction between the Jews and the Gentiles. We’re all one through our union with Jesus Christ.
The mysteries and wonders of the grace of God are to be revealed through the Church, and displayed before every throne and rank of angelic orders in the heavenly realm.
The angels investigate through our lives, the treasures of grace. They are fascinated with God’s mercy shown towards us. His wise plan of turning former rebels into lovers, remains a mystery to them.
If angels long to peer into the mysteries of God’s grace, which has been lavished upon us, how much more should we be fascinated explorers of the mercy of God, for we have received it and are now redeemed!
The complicated, many-sided wisdom of God in all its infinite variety and aspects, is to be showcased in and through you. There is a dimension in God you are expected to reflect. Beloved, you are designed to be a daily wonder of God’s grace! Are you a living wonder of God’s grace or a source of reproach and shame?
PRAYER:
Father, help me to be a daily reflection of your mercy and grace. Deliver me from reproach.
