Topic: DO THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
Text: Matthew 4:23-25
4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all diseases among the people.
4:24 Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.
4:25 Great multitudes followed Him from Galilee, and {from} Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.
STUDY:
While Jesus was ministering in Galilee, He taught in their synagogues, preached the gospel of the kingdom, and healed the sick. Sick people came as far as from Syria, and others who had various diseases and demonic possession, were aIso healed by Him. He became famous and great crowds from Galilee, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond River Jordan, followed Him. Notice the three-fold evangelistic work of Christ as He “went about.” He went about teaching, preaching and healing.
As followers of Christ, we are to work like Him if we must gain the same result in our time. It is to our shame that we have replaced the three-fold work of Christ with publicity and advertisements of all kinds. In our generation we print posters, banners and flyers in order to gather crowds. Christ’s pattern remains teaching. preaching and healing. We must through preaching, announce the truth and make clear this truth through teaching, and bring healing to the sick (2 Tim 4:5). The time has come for every Christian to do the work of evangelism. Always be ready to preach the gospel when God provides you the opportunity (2 Tim. 4:2). You can preach at school, in the bus, at village meetings or write, print, and distribute tracts to people. Start today!

Father; help me to do the work of Christ with all that is in me.
