The annual Diocesan mission outreach of the Diocese of Nsukka, Anglican Communion has concluded with widespread joy and a harvest of testimonies.

This year’s month-long rural evangelism, which ran from August 3rd to September 3rd, 2025, focused on ten communities within Nsukka Land.

A statement from Rev. Dr. Ibuchukwu Chidiebere Asogwa, the Director of Protocol and Public Relations, disclosed that a total of eighty young adults, both male and female, were deployed to nine villages—Ogwu, Ofante, Idi Opi, Ajara, Ukwu Okpo, Amube, Ikwoka Obimo, Ibuko, and Umuogboagu—for a church revival. Additionally, one village, Ohebe Dim, was the site of a new church plant.

In line with the gospel’s Great Commission, the Diocese provided extensive support to its missionaries. Beyond gospel proclamation, the outreach included various welfare initiatives. A free medical outreach was conducted in five of the mission fields, providing care to over six hundred individuals at no cost.

In the remaining five villages, more than ten bags filled with clothes and shoes were distributed to residents. The greatest source of joy, as echoed by Jesus’ words in Luke 10:20, was the salvation of souls. The mission recorded over two thousand new converts, including several notable priestesses of the marine cults, locally known as ‘Ezenwanyi.’

The Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, The Rt. Rev. Dr. A. E. Agbo, expressed his gratitude and welcomed the missionaries, whom he referred to as “Change agents.” The Bishop, along with Ven. Dr. Emeka Ezea and Felix Eze, initiated this mission outreach 23 years ago when he was a young priest.

He thanked the missionaries, especially the coordinator and Director of Missions, Evang. Odinaka Eze, for their commitment to saving souls and guiding young people away from idolatry. He noted that their unwavering dedication helped achieve the ambitious target of winning 2,000 souls. The Bishop praised God for His faithfulness and provision, describing the missionaries as “heroes of faith” and praying for their continued success.

Evang. Odinaka Eze, the mission coordinator, expressed his fulfillment and joy over the success of the outreach, giving thanks to God for His guidance. He emphasized that missions are the church’s most effective platform for manifesting God’s power and glory, urging all young believers to participate in mission outreach as a “rescue ark” for a generation in need.

The Diocese of Nsukka continues to give God praise for His guidance in this ministry, which has expanded to many states across Nigeria and even internationally to the Republic of Cameroon.

The mission extends an invitation to all mission-minded individuals to partner with them, either as participants or financial supporters, in this annual gospel movement.
