The Anglican Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Right Reverend Ndubuisi Obi says as 2023 general election draws closer, it is up to the electorates to vote in the right person that captures hope and posterity for them.

Bishop Obi stated this while reading his presidential address during the third session of the ninth synod of the diocese, holding at Saint Mathew’s Parish, Ozubulu.

“We find it funny that those who have kept our university students at home for months, worsened the security situation in the country, destroyed our economy and impoverished our people still have the boldness to come and campaign and ask us to vote for them for what they call continuity. The political elite seem to be afraid of the Igbo man and this is why the call for secession among the youths in Igboland may continue to gain momentum” Bishop Obi quipped.

The prelate also called on Ndi Anambra all over the world to co-operate with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration and help transform the state into the Dubai of Africa as promised.

“It is my belief that if all our political heavyweight, financial superpowers and intellectual lord’s come together and work with the present administration, Anambra State will become the envy of the rest of Nigeria and Nigerians will have no option than to plead that Anambra man should please come over to Aso Rock and help them”.

Speaking on the theme of the conference, “Understanding The Times”, the Bishop advised “We are challenged to be living our lives as if Christ is returning today and there will be no tomorrow, but at the same time make our plans as if He is not coming back in the next hundred years and focus on our assignment as if he will not return in our lifetime”.

The synod had in attendance over fifteen Archbisbops and Bishops, including Emeritus Dean Church of Nigeria, Most Reverend Maxwell Anikwenwa.
