Aims
to expose the Sword of the Spirit as the Word of God
to analyse how current human challenges can be surmounted through the spiritual sword.
Introduction
The Sword of the Spirit according to Ephesians 6:17 is the Word of God. It is as an offensive weapon against the enemies. Our Bible passage today reveals how Jesus conquered satan and his tempting power with the word of God. The more we study meditate on the word of God, the more we see the mystery and secret of God’s power to deliver from all challenges.
Study Guide
Biblically, define the ‘Sword of the Spirit’ and why is it called the ‘Sword of the Spirit? Psa 119:50; John 6: 63; Eph. 6:10.
Analyse the victories of Jesus by the word of God in today’s text. (Luk4:1-13)
When and how can we apply the following passages to life challenges? Gen 39:9; Ps 46; Isa 43:19; Phil 4:19.
Read Ps 107:20. How can the word of God heal? Give biblical examples.
Conclusion
Whoever takes up the sword continuously, believes every portion of it with a true and real faith, listening and hearing it, studying it, exercising it continuously; will never make a shipwreck of their Christian Faith.

When your “Thus says the Lord” is rightly quoted from the Bible, it becomes an offensive weapon to conquer the enemies.
