Aims
to discuss the nature of ungodly company and
to emphasise on the dangers in ungodly union with unbelievers.
Introduction
Ungodly Company is associating with carnal and nominal Christians. This type of company poses high threat to Christians who are on the path to eternal life. The ground of the injunction in our text today is that the difference between Christians and those who are not is so great as to render their union improper and injurious. Our study will expose us to more of the dangers in ungodly union with unbelievers.
Study Guide
In your own understanding, how can you define ungodly company with reference to the text today?
What should be the stand of Christians on marriage between Christians and non-Christian? Deut 7:2-4; Judg 14:3.
Read Gen 6:1-7 and discuss the dangers of Christian marriages with non-Christians. Compare with Gen 34:1-2 and IKings 11:1-4.
Mention some of the ungodly union to be abhorred by Christians today and how can we easily abhor them? Matt 5:14-16.
Conclusion
Our Choice in friendship and unionism is very important to the stuff and standard of our Christian belief. We must therefore be very vigilant to know and refrain from every union that will never glorify the name of Jesus Christ on our journey to the kingdom of God.
