MANIFESTATION OF GOD’S REIGN ON EARTH
SEVENTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY
Date: Jul 23, 2023
Sub Theme: Manifesting Spiritual fruits 3
Topic: Peace
Text:
Rom 5:1-5
Aims
to differentiate between having peace and being a peace – maker
to discuss how to have internal peace in a world of wars and challenges.
Introduction
In Study XII of this year’s outline, we studied peace-making as one of the life-style of the Christian on the journey to the kingdom of God. Moreover, our study today will focus on Peace as a spiritual fruit to be seen in any Christian on the path of God’s kingdom. Peace is the freedom from disturbance and warfare. It is a state of tranquillity. One can possess the ability to make peace with people without having peace in their own lives. Therefore, this study will focus more on how Christians can be at peace within themselves in a world filled with warfare.
Study Guide
Differentiate between a peace-maker and having peace with reference to Exod 2:13-15; Isa 32:17; Rom 5:1.
What is the role of Faith in having internal peace? Gal 3:28; Eph 2:13-15; Col 1:20.
Mention some of the challenges that can steal our peace as Christians. Rom 8:35, Rom 8:38.
Analyse the various stages to having peace through Faith in Jesus Christ- Rom 5:2-5; Col 1:20-22.
Conclusion
The world is filled with warfare; ranging from ethnic, economic and religious conflicts. Our ability to focus on Christ and hold firmly to our faith will give us internal comfort that generates joy from the heart. This is peace.
Food for Thought
In Christ alone is our Peace.
Memory Verse
Joh 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”.
