A 15-year-old student of Bishop Otubelu Juniorate, Trans Ekulu, Enugu, Lotanna Azuokeke, scored 99 marks in Mathematics in the just-concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

 

According to a statement by Dr Chiwuike Uba, Media Adviser to the Bishop of the Diocese of Nike (Anglican Communion), the founder of the school said he scored a total of 337 marks in the examination.

Mathematics: 99

Chemistry: 88

Physics: 86

English: 64

Total: 337.

He said: “Azụokeke broke record set by Chidera Obi who scored 329 marks to emerge overall best, five years ago.

“Report shows that Azuokeke applied to study Electrical/Electronic Engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.”

Meanwhile, the principal of Bishop Otubelu Juniorate, Trans Ekulu, Enugu, Mrs. Faith Onuoha, has assured parents whose wards are enrolled in the school that they will continue to produce students who are morally and academically sound, as they are poised to deliver.

Appreciating God for the wonderful jamb results which most of the students got in the just concluded UTME conducted by JAMB, which saw one of the students by name Azuokeke Lotanna as one of the best candidates.

Mrs. Onuoha, further appreciated the Proprietor of the school, the Rt. Revd. Dr. Christian Onyeka Onyia for making work easy for all the staff and providing a conducive atmosphere for the students to thrive.

Stressing that the efforts of the teachers are not left behind as she’s proud to have them all as staff.

Reports have it that 1,586,765 candidates sat for the UTME across its 708 CBT centres in 105 examination towns in the country.
