The 2020 edition of the Amichi Diocesan A.Y.F Bible study conference has ended in Amichi with a call on youths to embrace God above all other pursuits of life.

While preaching at the thanksgiving service to mark the end of the conference at the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew, Amichi the speaker Ven. Ifeanyi Aniogboso called on youths of our generation to take their stand with God in all situations.

Ven. Aniagboso in his sermon regretted that many young people have entangled themselves with the affairs of this world which have turned them away from God.

“Be content with what God has made you. Stop copying Bobrisky, Naira Marley etc. You are different and have a different destiny to fulfil. It is this destiny that the devil is fighting. He does not want you to fulfil it. Do not let him.”
He charged the youths to invest the best of their resources in the service of God as that is what guarantees their ability to fulfil their destinies.

“Serve God because it is in the service of God that you fulfil your destiny. In your service to God, aim at excellence because God is excellent. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you. I have served God as a child, as a youth and now as an adult and He has not failed me.”

He further challenged parents do all that is within their powers to train their children in a way that is pleasing to God as he will hold them accountable for the lives of their children.

“Flee from fornication and adultery. If you are a lady and your laps show while you sit, then you are naked. How can you be wearing clothes and you need another piece of cloth to cover yourself? It is unfortunate that today, mothers and their daughters are competing for nakedness and constituting obstacles for ministers of the gospel.”

Ven. Aniagboso noted that Christian young people have great need of the Holy Spirit in their struggle to distinguish themselves in a depraved world such as ours. He led the youths to the altar to pray for the power of the Holy Spirit.
