The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has swept 14 of the chairmanship positions in the Local Government Areas elections conducted in Enugu state on Saturday.

The Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC, Mike Ajogwu SAN, announced on Sunday that the PDP won in 14 of the 17 Chairmanship positions contested for at the polls.

It would be recalled that the elections were marred by widespread violence with two people reported killed and scores sustained injuries on Saturday.

The election was mainly a two-horse race between the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the ruling party in the State and the All Progressives Congress (APC), the leading opposition party in the State.
