Tragedy struck again on Monday along the Nyanya-Mararaba Road near Karu Bridge in Abuja, as another fatal accident was reported—just hours after a similar incident on Sunday. Several people were feared dead in the latest crash.

Emmanuel Ogbeche, former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, shared details of the Sunday accident on his Facebook page, writing:

“Often than not, we underestimate our going out and coming in. Just about an hour ago, some people met their end in-bound Karu Site. A terrible accident involving about seven cars, some beyond repairs, in a crash with a low-bed or caterpillar.”

On Monday evening, a second devastating collision occurred—this time involving a trailer and a vehicle carrying sachet water. The impact caused a major traffic jam along the busy corridor as emergency responders worked to assist victims and remove the wreckage.

The Karu Bridge area has become a recurring accident hotspot, with at least two deadly crashes reported there last month alone.
