The Rt. Rev’d Dr Stephen Adeniran Oni, the Anglican Bishop of Ondo has inaugurated the Diocese of Ondo Christian Men’s Fellowship on Saturday, 11th December at St Stephen’s Anglican Cathedral, Oke-Aluko, Ondo city.
Admonishing the men from Luke: 5:4 where our Lord Jesus asked men to launch out into the deep and let down their nets for a draught, he stressed that he is delighted that men chosen were diligently appointed based on their faith as followers of Christ.
The Bishop was particularly delighted and appreciative of the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, The Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba whom God used to initiate and inaugurate the first national convention of the Christian Men’s Fellowship of the Church of Nigeria at Ibadan between 27th September and 1st October, 2021.
The ceremony which also happened to be the annual Harvest of the Diocese of Ondo was graced with the presence of the retired Bishop of Oke – Osun Diocese, The Rt Rev’d Fashogbon and his wife, and had the Cathedral filled to the brim.
The climax of the event was the presentation of the Diocese President, Executive officers of the Christian Men’s Fellowship and Executive officers of the Archdeaconries to the Bishop who, in turns took oath of office, and thereafter were presented with individual certificates.
The first president of Diocese of Ondo Christian Men’s Fellowship, Mr Steve Awosika (a retired Permanent Secretary) thanked God for the wonderful opportunity bestowed on him and his team to serve, noting that the privilege shall be fully explored in a greater and better service to God.
In his closing remarks, the Rt Rev. Oni restated his earlier charge that officers and men should redouble their efforts and devote their lives, time and work for the service of God that will make men be fruitful, multiply, replenish, subdue and dominate the land as in Genesis 1 verse 28.
