THE Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced the launch of four new COVID-19 testing laboratories to the list of molecular laboratories across the country.

NCDC stated this on Wednesday on its verified Twitter handle.

This brings the total number of laboratories in the country with the capacity to test for the virus to 38.

The centre added that the laboratories are located in Ekiti, Kano states and the FCT.

“There are currently 38 laboratories in Nigeria with the capacity to test for #COVID19.”

According to the agency, it is planning to activate COVID-19 testing laboratories in Gombe and Ondo states.

The NCDC had previously inaugurated COVID-19 testing laboratories in Lagos, Ogun, Kaduna, Borno, Kano, and Plateau states.

Others are in Oyo State, Osun State, Ebonyi State, Rivers State, Edo State, Imo State, as well as the FCT, Abuja.
