Volleyball Club La Loi of Congo DR came from a set down to overpower Sococim 3-1 (11-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-17) to earn their first win in the championship.
SOC were bright in the 1st set, running away with the set 25-11. In the second set VLL was the team to storm out of the gate! Some amazing rallies – back and forth, attack, dig, led SOC to call a timeout. However, VLL is never a team to fold, and they started to chip away, eventually levelling the game 1-1 with a 25-21 win.
VLL was all business in the third set. SOC was on their heels for the first four points by some very strong serving, eventually increasing their lead. VLL continued strong, extending their lead, and SOC called a timeout. It seemed to turn their game around a bit, and they managed to close the gap but it was too late as VLL won it 25-15.
VLL once again showed their strength and consistency – a combination of a super spike and defence, and they rolled on from there to win the set 25-17, and the match 3-1.
