The 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship host Nigeria Customs Service lost to Kenya Commercial Bank 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-17) in round of Sixteen
NCS initially started well, although KCB soon overtook and dominated most of the set. KCB serving pressure and unforced errors were again holding NCS back. Then NCS made a passionate fight back and managed to close the gap with a number of spikes and serves, however the lead was too much and KCB won the set 25-19.
It was a similar pattern in the second set, with KCB led at 11-4, NCS called for a timeout in order to claw back to the set but these Kenyans proof far too strong for the host. The second set was settled at 25-17.
NCS were in trouble early on in the set again as KCB pushed on confidently from 5-2 to lead 17-12. It was indeed a fight from the Nigerians, however KCB meant serious business as they nailed it 25-17. It was a clean 3-0 sweep.
There was a strong home support and plenty of cheers for the host as they say goodbye to the championship crashing out in the round of sixteen. They now play in the classification matches.
