The Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion Director for Youth, Ven. Dr. Benjamin Idume of Abuja Diocese and one other evangelist were on Friday evening 17th June 2022 kidnapped by unknown gunmen along Agbor road, Delta State.
Details about how they were kidnapped came through his driver who spoke of how he escaped by whiskers. This was confirmed to ACNNTV by the General Secretary of the Church of Nigeria, Ven. Dr. Paul Dajur.

Kidnapping of Priests, following the abduction and release of the Prelate of Methodist Church Samuel Kanu Uche after paying N100m ransom seems to be on the increase.
This followed the kidnapping and release of Anglican Bishop The Rt Revd Adeyinka Aderogba and his wife on Ogbomoso/ Oyo road last weekend.
