Manchester United have confirmed that defender Harry Maguire has signed a new contract extension, keeping him at Old Trafford until June 2027, with an option for a further year.
The England international, who was set to become a free agent at the end of the season, has now committed his future to the club after agreeing new terms.
Maguire joined United from Leicester City in a then-record £80 million deal in 2019 and has since made 266 appearances, scoring 17 goals.
The 33-year-old has remained an important figure in the team’s defence and has played a role in the club’s improved form in recent months. His performances since January also earned him a recall to the England squad for the March international fixtures.
Reacting to the new deal, Maguire expressed his delight at continuing his journey with the club.
“Representing Manchester United is the ultimate honour. I am delighted to extend my journey at this incredible club and continue to play in front of our special supporters. The ambition and potential of this squad is clear, and I am confident our best moments are still ahead,” he said.
Manchester United’s Director of Football, Jason Wilcox, commended the defender’s leadership qualities and professionalism, noting that his experience remains vital to the squad.
Maguire’s contract extension ensures that the club retains one of its most experienced players as it looks to compete for major honours in the coming seasons.
