God Hears Our Petitions Archbishop Lasebikan Charges All Pray To God

The former Archbishop of Ondo Ecclesiastical Province and the Dean Emeritus of the Church of  Nigeria (Anglican Commission ) the Most Reverend Professor George L Lasebikan has encouraged all to continue to pray to God as emphasised that God hears our petitions.

He made the charge last weekend during his sermon at the All Saints Church , Ogbonkowo , Ondo during the final  burial service of The Very Reverend Dr Okunade Module  the former Provost and Provost Emeritus Ecclesiastical  Plenipotentiary of St. James Cathedral , Oke-Aluko in Ondo Diocese . He was aged 80 . (1941 2021)

The Most Reverend Professor Latunji who picked his text from the book of I Samuel chapter 1 verse 27  , ” For this child I prayed  and Lord : hath given me my petitions which I asked of him.” copiously  read in a loud voice into ears of over 1,800 worshippers within the church and it’s environ .

He stated that apart from the fact that the Very Reverend Dr Modupe worked with him conscientiously , faithfully in his Episcopal callings , he gave his children sound and good education . He admonished both the clergy and laity to imbibe the novels examples humility , cheering attitudes and service to God’s work .

He stressed and warned that those who did not have faith should return to God so as to  avert the impending  calamities at the of their journeys on this hopeless earth .

The service was attended by other 6 Bishops amongst were The Most Reverend G. A. Akinbiyi , retired Arch Bishop of Ondo Province , The Right Reverend J O K Olowokure , The Right Revealed Dr . A O Akinlalu , The Right Revealed N O Fagbemi , The Right Revealed Bola Dahunsi , The Right Revealed Dr .  Stephen Adeniran Oni , with 16 in Venerable Cadres and  41 Canons /Reverends .

The Very Reverend Dr. Okunade was born October 18th , 1941 , retired 18th , 2011 having worked for 11 years to build up the Cathedral up to it’s present  enviable state . . Consequent upon the above , The Bishop of Ondo Diocese in accordance with the Constitutional provision in the Second Schedule , Article III , Number 8 of the Diocesan Constitution was invoked to confer on him the status of ” Provost Emeritus ” of the Cathedral on 27th , October , 2011   died 22nd November 2021 . His remains was laid to rest on Friday 14th , January 2022 . To God be the glory
