The just concluded 2nd session of the 34th Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Lagos held at Our Saviour’s Church, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos and presided over by the Lord Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos, the Rt. Rev Dr. Humphrey Bamisebi Olumakaiye was an epoch making event as it was graced by 48 Bishops among other dignitaries.

The Bishops that attended the Synod to felicitate with their brother bishop, Dr. Olumakaiye came from all parts of the country. The massive turn out of the Bishops at the Synod was a beautiful sight to behold.

The Primate and Metropolitan of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Most Rev.Henry C. Ndukuba,ably represented by The Rt. Rev. James Odedeji, Bishop of Lagos West Diocese, in his goodwill message, congratulated the Bishop and his amiable wife, The Rt. Rev. Dr. and Prof. (Mrs) Motunrayo Funke Olumakaiye, the Clergy and their Wives as well as the good people of Lagos Diocese for this year’s Synod. While commending the theme of the Synod, he noted that Christians need to pray to have acceptable service and after fervent prayer and selfless service, they will grow effortlessly. He thereafter wished them a peaceful Synod.

On his part, The Most Rev. Dr. Ephraim Adebola Ademowo- Erstwhile Diocesan Bishop of Lagos & Dean Emeritus of the National Church, representing the retired Prelates, congratulated the Bishop, his wife, the House of Clergy and the people of Lagos Diocese for the 2nd session of the 34th Synod. He stated that he is very elated because Bishop Olumakaiye has surpassed him and noted that the Lord is moving in the Diocese. He subsequently wished the Synod a spirit filled and successful deliberations.

The Rt. Rev Dr. Humphrey Bamisebi Olumakaiye in his address expressed his profound gratitude to all the Bishops for making out time to attend the Synod as he wished them journey mercies back to their respective destinations.
