The Diocese of Evo, Anglican Communion, Rivers State, has formerly taken over the Woji Town Word of Faith Schools, which it had been managing since September 2010.

The group of schools, now known as Word of Faith Group of Schools (WOFGS) is a full-blown Nursery, Primary and Secondary school approved by the Rivers State Government.

The Directors of the Woji Town Word of Faith Schools Limited Mrs. Ngozi Doris Oyewole and her husband Mr. Olatunde Oyewole signed the Contract of Sale in their home in the United Kingdom (UK) with the Incorporated Trustees of the Diocese of Evo for the Diocese to completely own and now run the school as its own.

The Diocese of Evo invests heavily in education.

In the signing ceremony at the Bishop’s Conference room at the All Saints’ Cathedral Rumuokwurusi linked by Zoom by the Diocesan Media and Communications Unit, three persons signed on behalf of the Diocese namely, the Lord Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Innocent Uchechukwu Ordu, JP, the Diocesan Chancellor Sir, Barr. Nlerum Amadi and the Venerable Chidi Worgu.

Other persons who witnessed the signing ceremony were the Chairman of the Diocesan Education Board, Sir Victor Dania; the Chairman of the Governing Council of WOFGS, Dr. Nnamdi Ekeocha; the Diocesan Legal team led by Sir, Barr. G. O. Dike; the Principal of the school, Rev. Timothy Otuka; the company secretary of the Woji Town Word of Faith Schools Limited and Lawyer to the Oyewole family, Barr. Ayuk Kure; the Diocesan Treasurer, Sir P. W. O. Owhor; the Diocesan Financial Secretary, Mr. Lawrence Chinda and the Diocesan communicator, Sir, Dr. Jossy Nkwocha

The Diocese of Evo now has three full-fledged schools namely the Archdeacon Crowther Memorial Girls Secondary School (ACMGS), Elelenwo; Bishop Crowther Memorial Secondary School (BCMSS) Rumuobiokani, and the Word of Faith Group of Schools, Woji.

The sales signing ceremony turned into a convivial atmosphere. Mr. Olatunde Oyewole thanked Lord Bishop Ordu, the Principal Rev. Otuka, and the Chairman of the Education Board, Sir Dania for making the negotiations very seamless and cordial.

On her part, Mrs. Ngozi Oyewole thanked “my brother” the Lord Bishop, and the first principal of the School, Rev Canon Samuel Obialor for the cordial agreement to run the school from September 2010 and run the school in a very standard format.

Mrs. Oyewole said she has now established an international institute in the UK to help in uplifting the educational standards of Nigerian and African youths.

According to her, the Woji Town Word of Faith Schools will benefit from the program.

In his closing remarks, the Bishop, Rt. Rev. Ordu appealed to Mrs. Ngozi Oyewole to come to Macedonia (home) and do whatever she can to help the three Diocesan schools to benefit from her gesture and assist the schools with educational materials and exchange programs to enhance their international standards.
