ABUSE OF MARRIAGE COVENANT WITH THE LIVING GOD – 2 –BESTIALITY

AIMS:
1. To understand the term bestiality and the biblical perspectives on it and
2. To show the justified wrath of God on the practices from the biblical context.

INTRODUCTION:
Biblically, human beings were designed by God to have sexual relations with humans, male and female, but not with animals. In the creation account, none of the animals were found “suitable” for Adam (Genesis 2:20). Bestiality is a word describing sex between a human being and an animal. When you say bestiality, you hear the echo of “beast”, which is a good clue to its meaning as unnatural and perverse. The fact that the animal involved was to be put to death (Leviticus 20:15-16), despite the fact that it was probably “innocent,” indicates how bestiality was seen as wickedly perverse. The act is an abomination to God and an abuse of God’s principle for marriage between biologically (male) man and (female) woman.

STUDY GUIDE:
1. Define “bestiality” in your own understanding.
2. Read Gen 1:26, Gen 1:28; Psalm 8:6. If the Bible says that God made mankind to have dominion over all animals, how then can or will mankind subject their princely humanity to mate with animals? 1Sam 2:12; Pr. 1:30-32; Rom 1:28;
3. What can you say about any human being mating with an animal? Are they human or not? Justify your answer. Rom. 1:21-22.
4. Why did God command that both the animal and human found in the act of bestiality act be put to death? Lev 22:20-25; Rom 12:1. How can we abstain from this perversion as Christians? Rom 12:1-2; Rom 6:13.

CONCLUSION:
Have you ever pondered on the fact that no animal had ever defied God’s creation principle to solicit for sexual intercourse with man? It is human beings who subject themselves to animals for sexual perversion. What do you call them? It cannot be right for human beings, especially Christians, to have passion for sexual relationship with animals. Those engaged in this perversion are on the path to destruction unless they repent and turn from this wicked way.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
God’s Word forbids men from having sexual intercourse with animals.
