The Rt.Hon. Victor Ochei has challenged Clergymen and the Church to speak truth to the powers that be when they err.
Ochei spoke, Saturday while presenting a paper at the 3rd Session of the 15th Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Asaba.
According to the former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly the Church must reclaim her power to call people in authority to order when they err. He recalled that prophets in the time of King David dared to speak the truth just as prophet Nathan did.
The Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers ( FNSE) regretted that due to some pecuniary considerations, Clergymen have lost the power to hold the government accountable.
He prayed that Clergymen return to their place of power.
