President Bola Tinubu has taken the oath of office. He was sworn in at exactly 10.37 am.
He becomes the 16th president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The President was sworn in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kayode Ariwoola. His wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, accompanied him.
As the President of Nigeria, he pledged to perform his duties and abide by the conduct contained in Nigeria’s constitution.
He also pledged that his personal interest would not affect his decision but promised to discharge his duties as the president of Nigeria.
He said,”I Bola Ahmed Tinubu do solemnly pledge allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I will abide by the code of conduct. preserve, protect, and defend the constitution of Nigeria, So help me God. ”
