The CONAC FC Management Team, led by the Rt. Rev’d Solomon Olusola, Bishop of Offa Diocese, visited Uyo for a player scouting and recruitment exercise. The team arrived on Sunday and conducted training sessions on Monday and Tuesday before departing on Wednesday.
The recruitment exercise was a huge success, with seven talented young players selected to join the CONAC FC team. The selected players will report to Abuja for further training and final selection.
The list of selected players includes:
1. Inyang Atabop (Ibeno Arch) – National League 01 (No age limit)
2. Uche David Nnana (Eket Arch) – National League 01 (No age limit)
3. Bro. Gibson John (Eastern Obolo Arch) – National League 01 (No age limit)
4. Bro. Sigismond John (Uyo Arch) – National League 02 (Age limit: 19 and below)
5. Gabriel Ifreke (Ibeno Arch) – National League 02 (Age limit: 19 and below)
6. Bro. Kingsley Umeh (Oron Arch) – National League 02 (Age limit: 19 and below)
7. Bro. Aniekeme Joseph – Selected from the team that played a novelty match
Bishop Owen Ukafia prayed for the selected players, encouraging them to be good ambassadors for Christ and exemplary representatives of the Diocese of Uyo. He also thanked the visiting team for their visit and prayed for their safe return.
The CONAC FC Coordinating Bishop expressed his gratitude to Bishop Owen Ukafia and his wife, Lady Zilpah Owen Ukafia, for their exceptional hospitality and support during their stay.
The President of the Diocesan Anglican Youth Fellowship (AYF) also thanked Bishop Owen Ukafia and his wife for their support and encouragement.
Bishop Owen Ukafia also extended his appreciation to Brother Arinze, the AYF President, for making arrangements for the youth to participate in the training and for providing the venue for the training sessions.
This visit was in line with Bishop Owen Ukafia’s episcopal mandate and passion for empowering young Anglicans to serve God.
