The  Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Anglican Communion, The Rt. Rev’d Geoffrey Ibeabuchi has called on the Federal Government to make friendly policies that would alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians.

Rt. Rev’d  Ibeabuchi stated this while reading his president address at the Diocesan synod holding at All Saints Anglican Church Parish World Bank Housing Estate Umuahia, Abia State.

The Bishop who also lauded the commencement of geometric power supply in Aba, the commercial nerve of Abia, the cleric suggested that other parts of the state and country at large should also witness and enjoy the same project.

He also decried the inability of the country to generate 6,000 mega watts electricity.

Bishop Ibeabuchi said it is not acceptable to recruit former boko haram members into Nigeria security agents.

He said that the current hike in fuel price and electricity tariff points to the fact that things are not well for the country, even after the removal of subsidy.

While stating that the Federal and State governments should do more to end banditry,  Bishop Ibeabuchi lamented the rate at which textile as well as other factories have shut down and left Nigeria.

He decried  further that the leaders are only interested in themselves, and allowed the masses to die in penury.

Rt. Rev’d Ibeabuchi, called on President Bola Tinubu not to allow the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to die in detention.

He observed that the state Police is a welcome development, but emphasized that proper policies must be put in place to discourage State governors from hijacking it against the oppositions.

The  Bishop Diocese also commended Governor Alex Otti for his efforts to reposition the state both infrastructure and to upgrade the welfare of civil servants.

He also thanked Governor Alex Otti for redeeming his pledge to clear the arrears owed pensioners and assured that the church will continue to support him in all things good.

The Bishop said the church would continue praying for the Governor and reminded the Abia number one citizen of his promise towards Saint Stephen’s Cathedral Umuahia.

The Bishop who charged the delegates not to be distracted but to remain focused, noted that it would be a waste of time for one to constantly come to church without being born again.

Bishop Ibeabuchi advised the delegates to be committed with the things of God and not to pretend to be busy always, instead of cultivating intimacy with God.

Rt. Rev’d Ibeabuchi who charged parents to do more to ensure that the church secures its future, encouraged the delegates to rise up and take over the leadership of Nigeria.
