The Rt Rev’d Prof. Dapo Asaju, Bishop Theologian of the Church of Nigeria and Bishop of the Ilesha Diocese, has been appointed Chairman of the Governing Council of Precious Cornerstone University (PCU), Ibadan.
His appointment recognizes his outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment to academic and institutional excellence.
Congratulating him on this achievement, PCU Vice-Chancellor Prof. T.O. Adejumo described the appointment as well-deserved, highlighting Bishop Asaju’s visionary leadership and his ability to drive transformative growth within the university.
This appointment follows closely after his selection as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Hallmark University, Itele Ijebu, Ogun State. With these dual leadership roles, Bishop Asaju further cements his influence in shaping Nigeria’s higher education landscape.
Renowned for his academic excellence, theological expertise, and charismatic leadership, Bishop Asaju is expected to bring significant contributions to both institutions, fostering a legacy of excellence and innovation.
Born on November 16, 1961, Prof. Dapo Asaju is an esteemed academic, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ilesha, and former Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University (2015–2020). He previously served as Rector of Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary and is a lecturer at Lagos State University.
Beyond his clerical and academic roles, Bishop Asaju is an active member of several scholarly and theological bodies, including the Constitution Drafting Committee for Lagos West Diocese, the Theological Resource Grading for GAFCON, the British Society of New Testament Studies, the Nigerian Association for Christian Studies, and the Nigerian Association for Biblical Studies.
