TOPIC: NO MORE CURSE; NO MORE SICKNESS

TEXT: Revelation 22:1-6(NKJV)

22:1. And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

22:2. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, [was] the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each [tree] yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations.

22:3. And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.

22:4. They shall see His face, and His name [shall be] on their foreheads.

22:5.  There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.

22:6.  Then he said to me, “These words [are] faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place.

STUDY:

When Adam and Eve sinned against God by eating the forbidden fruit, God placed curses on them and drove them out of the Garden of Eden so that they could not eat of the tree of life because as long as they were under the dominion of sin, they would not have eternal life. When God drove them out of the Garden of Eden, He placed cherubim and a flaming sword which turned every way to guard the way of the tree of life. Read again verse 2 of today’s text again. Now that the issue of sin has been dealt with, and Jesus gave us forgiveness of sin through his blood, there will be no sin in the new Jerusalem. We will eat freely from the tree of life and live forever with God. In the new Jerusalem, there will be no sickness, and there will be no curse. In fact, nothing accursed will be in that city. Ancestral or even Adamic curses will not work in that city. Curses brought by sin and misbehavior will never exist again since there will be no sin in the Holy City. There will be real joy and perfect freedom. We shall see God face to face; and there shall not be darkness, sorrow, pain or night. All these revelations are pure and true and must surely come to pass. Beloved, do your best to enter God’s kingdom.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, please grant me the strength and grace to live for you, and to enter the New Jerusalem, Amen.
