STUDY:
To “put on the new man” means to shed the old, sinful ways and adopt a new nature that agrees with God’s will. It involves a deliberate and ongoing process of renewal, where one’s thoughts, attitudes and behaviours, are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
This transformation touches various aspects of life, including relationships, morality and personal character. This new nature has characteristics such as righteousness, love, and spiritual growth.
We see this concept of the new man in verse 24 of our text. Putting on the new man requires a conscious effort to cultivate the virtues of Christ.
It involves seeking wisdom from God’s word and allowing it to shape your beliefs and choices. By so doing, the believer reflects the image of Christ and becomes an instrument of righteousness in the world.
Thus, there is the need for the believer’s personal growth and continuous pursuit of spiritual maturity through a daily devotion and consistent walk with the Lord.
This change process calls on the believer to throw away the old, sinful habits and embrace a renewed nature that This day is another opportunity. the new man. Will you?
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, please grant that today and always, I put on the new nature in Christ, Amen!
