Governor of Ekiti state has instituted a governing board that will be overseeing the operation of Ekiti Security Network Agency popularly codenamed Operation Amotekun. The development was contained in a statement by the chief press secretary to the governor, Yinka Oyebode, in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, May 3. According to the statement, the appointment was a giant stride towards ensuring effective take-off and efficient management of the state security outfits. Source: Twitter In his warning to criminals in the state, Fayemi said that security is a priority in his government and Amtekun would be designed to track and deal with criminals not just in the state but also in the region. Appointing members of governing council for the security outfit, Governor Fayemi said the appointment will take effect as there is an urgent need to tackle the security challenges in the state. The governor appointed Akin Aregbesola as the chairman of the security operation while Brig.- Gen. Joe Komolafe (rtd), the governor’s special adviser on security, will engage in the operation as the corps commander. Other people appointed by the governor include B. J. Akin-Obasola, Joel Idowu Ajayi and Major Fatai Fakorede.
