Abuja Nigeria, April 5, 2025 – Record championship holders Al Ahly of Egypt made it two out of two following their 3-0 (25-7, 25-11, 25-20) win over La Loi of Congo DR.
AHL looked to solidify their spot in top pool C and did so convincingly in their match against VLL. AHL started out in style, serving some balls that VLL had difficulty controlling. Despite some spirited and quality defense and some incredible rallies, VLL could not prevent AHL from building a solid 1st set lead at 25-7.
VLL tried to chip away at AHL’s lead, with some great serving but AHL’s attack was too strong and maintained their lead at 25-11 in the second set.
In the third set, VLL was the team to storm out of the gate! Some amazing rallies – back and forth, attack, dig. However, AHL is never a team to fold, and they started to chip away, eventually winning the set 25-20, and 3-0 on scores.
