TOPIC: PREACH WITH BOLDNESS
TEXT: Acts 13:14-21(NKJV)
- 13:14. But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and sat down.
- 13:15. And after the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, “Men [and] brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.”
- 13:16. Then Paul stood up, and motioning with [his] hand said, “Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen:
- 13:17. “The God of this people Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm He brought them out of it.
- 13:18. “Now for a time of about forty years He put up with their ways in the wilderness.
- 13:19. “And when He had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, He distributed their land to them by allotment.
- 13:20. “After that He gave [them] judges for about four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.
- 13:21. “And afterward they asked for a king; so God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.
STUDY:
Paul the Apostle, while at Antioch of Pisidia, got an opportunity to speak to the Jews in the synagogue and he made a great presentation.
He expresses clearly how the Almighty God was very patient with rebellious Israel. He also related God’s faithfulness to the promises given to them and eventually told them to turn to God’s provision of salvation by faith alone, and not by works. Generally, he proclaimed God’s word with boldness in the synagogue. One of the acceptable services of a believer is to preach the gospel of Christ to unbelievers without sentiments.
God has put his word in our mouths to be declared to every soul, so that his kingdom will be expanded daily (Jer. 1:9-10; Isa. 59:21). His word in our mouths when boldly declared will definitely pull down every stronghold of sin and affliction in people’s lives, and this will glorify his name forever! Make a decision today to preach the gospel of Christ to at least one soul a day, even at the slightest opportunity!
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I receive the boldness to preach your word in Jesus’ Name, Amen!
