Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the leader of Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), has clarified his recent interaction with the Nigerian Police, stating that he was invited to assist in an ongoing investigation, not arrested.
In a video message shared with his congregation on Sunday, December 8, 2024, Pastor Idowu provided details about his involvement in a case concerning a church member accused of financial wrongdoing. He explained, “I want to make it clear: I was invited, not arrested. The Police reached out to me for help with an investigation regarding a church member who got into some trouble.”
The pastor refrained from sharing further details, emphasizing the importance of respecting the privacy of those involved. “While I’d like to say more, remember this case is still under investigation, and the people involved have families. Mentioning names now would cause harm to their lives,” he said.
Pastor Idowu also criticized media reports surrounding the situation, calling them misrepresentations of the facts.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to his congregation for their continued trust and support during this time, stating, “Thank you for standing by me, even without knowing all the details.”
As the investigation continues, Pastor Idowu reaffirmed his commitment to fully cooperating with law enforcement while ensuring the confidentiality of those involved.
