Appearing before Justice Maryann Anenih, former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello and two others faced a 16-count criminal charge.
They denied all the allegations, including the alleged fraudulent diversion of ₦110 billion for personal use.
Bello, listed as the first defendant, strongly refuted the charges as the Court Registrar read them aloud. At the time of this report, the bail hearing was set to commence.
Umar Shoaib Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu had earlier been granted administrative bail by the EFCC, while this was the former governor’s first court appearance.
