The All Clergy Conference of the Church of Nigeria began in Lagos with a strong call for clergy members to uphold and preserve Anglican heritage. Themed “Maintaining Anglican Heritage and Identity in Times Like These – 2 Tim. 3:14-17,” the conference gathered clergy from across the nation for spiritual renewal and strategic planning.

In his welcome address, the Bishop of Lagos, Rt. Rev’d Ifedola Senasu Gabriel Okupevi, extended a warm reception to the Primate, Dean, National Coordinators, and all attending clergy, underscoring the importance of leveraging the insights gained from the conference.

During his sermon, Rev. Jacob Kunle from the Diocese of Lagos urged the clergy to remain true to their Anglican identity. He cautioned against adopting practices from other denominations and emphasized the need to rely on scripture for wisdom and guidance.

Rev. Kunle highlighted the vital role of the Holy Spirit in ministry and encouraged the clergy to be led by the Spirit in all their work. To safeguard the Anglican heritage, he outlined several key actions: studying the 39 Articles of Religion, actively participating in Anglican liturgy and sacraments, supporting Anglican communities and ministries, aiding those in need, and promoting the gospel and Anglican values.
