National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has thrown its weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid in 2019.

Speaking with journalists at the end of a sensitisation workshop on the activities and achievement of President Buhari held in Bauchi on Sunday, Murtala Muhammed Garba, the National President of NYCN, said 75 million Nigerian youths both at home and outside the country would support the President in the 2019 general election.

He said their support for the President’s re-election bid was based on his track record and performance since he assumed office as the President of Nigeria.

Garba said, “As youths of this nation, we have the right to decide who would be our leader. President Buhari’s fight against corruption is commendable, as he has recovered billions of looted funds from past corrupt officials hence the need to support him 100 percent to come back in 2019.

Muhammed Garba said, “In 2015, President Buhari came out on his own to contest but this time around the Nigerian youth are calling on him to come out again and contest in 2019.

“We have decided to source for money to buy nomination form for President Buhari in 2019 in order to show our full support for him as we believed that after 2019, he would hand over to a youth as Nigerian President,” he said.
