  1. He was born 60 years ago (June 10, 1965).
  2. He has been Bishop of Yola in the Province of Jos since 2005.
  3. He became the Archbishop of the Province of Jos in 2020 when he was first elected and presented.
  4. He succeeded the Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba as Archbishop of Jos when he was elected the Primate in 2020.
  5. ⁠From being a Pagan Hausa man of the North, he bulldozed his way to Christ, just like Apostle Paul of old, crying in the wilderness for the salvation of men.
  6. ⁠As Bishop of Yola, he has led with a pastor’s heart and a prophet’s courage, building churches and schools, providing stability and hope to a region that has been in trials for long.
  7. ⁠As Archbishop of the Province of Jos, he has worked tirelessly to strengthen unity among dioceses and clergy, promoting sound doctrine and spiritual growth throughout the northern region of Nigeria.
  8. ⁠He is married to his help meet Mrs Liatu Markus (Mama Province/Diocese) and blessed with great children.
  9. Marcus was re- elected as Archbishop of Jos for another 5 years at the episcopal conference held at Nike Diocese on July 11th 2025.
  10. ⁠He will be expected to preside as the internal provincial Archbishop of Jos overseeing the Dioceses in Plateau, Taraba, Gombe, Borno and Yola States.
  11. ⁠Archbishop Markus has not only shepherded the flock entrusted to his care but also remained a symbol of humility, wisdom, and resilience in a time of spiritual, social, and political challenges.
  12. ⁠He is being presented as the Archbishop for a second and last term for another 5 years today at the ongoing Standing Committee meeting of the Church of Nigeria holding at the Cathedral Church of Emmanuel, Adó-Èkìtì, Èkìtì State.
