24Ā TheĀ discipleĀ isĀ notĀ aboveĀ hisĀ master,Ā norĀ theĀ servantĀ aboveĀ hisĀ lord.
25Ā It isĀ enoughĀ for theĀ discipleĀ thatĀ heĀ beĀ asĀ hisĀ master,Ā andĀ theĀ servantĀ asĀ hisĀ lord.Ā IfĀ they haveĀ calledĀ the master of theĀ houseĀ Beelzebub,Ā howĀ muchĀ moreĀ shall they call them ofĀ hisĀ household?
26Ā FearĀ themĀ notĀ therefore:Ā forĀ thereĀ isĀ nothingĀ covered,Ā thatĀ shallĀ notĀ beĀ revealed;Ā andĀ hid,Ā thatĀ shallĀ notĀ beĀ known.
27Ā WhatĀ IĀ tellĀ youĀ inĀ darkness,Ā that speakĀ yeĀ inĀ light:Ā andĀ whatĀ yeĀ hearĀ inĀ theĀ ear,Ā that preachĀ yeĀ uponĀ theĀ housetops.
28Ā AndĀ fear*Ā notĀ themĀ whichĀ killĀ theĀ body,Ā butĀ areĀ notĀ ableĀ toĀ killĀ theĀ soul:Ā butĀ ratherĀ fearĀ himĀ whichĀ isĀ ableĀ toĀ destroyĀ bothĀ soul
29Ā AreĀ notĀ twoĀ sparrowsĀ soldĀ for aĀ farthing?Ā andĀ oneĀ ofĀ themĀ shallĀ notĀ fallĀ onĀ theĀ groundĀ withoutĀ yourĀ Father.
30Ā ButĀ theĀ veryĀ hairsĀ ofĀ yourĀ headĀ areĀ allĀ numbered.
31Ā FearĀ yeĀ notĀ therefore,Ā yeĀ are of moreĀ valueĀ thanĀ manyĀ sparrows
āšSTUDY: Jesus came, He saw and He conquered. He overcame despite the numerous challenges He encountered. As His disciples, He wants us to follow in His footsteps and do likewise. Jesus was called Beelzebub [Prince of Demons]; and He warned his disciples that they may also witness such an accusation. They equally need to be careful because there is nothing covered that will not be revealed (v.26). They should therefore not be afraid of what man can do to them but of God.
Christians are here to represent Christ as His ambassadors on earth (2 Cor. 5:20). Do not allow the world to set a different life standard for you. Be a disciplined disciple of Christ. Be honest in serving Him. Do not mind what people say against you when you are doing the right thing. Be open to the leading of the Spirit of God in taking actions; you are safe when you are on the Lordās side. In any situation, at any time, your primary aim must be geared towards doing the will of God, not the will of man. Do not be afraid to preach the gospel for God is with you.
āš PRAYER: Rock of ages cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee. Amen.
