 Aims

to define remiss from the biblical and Christian point of view

to see how it can affect the eternal destiny of a pilgrim on the Kingdom path.

 Introduction

Today, we shall be discussing a very terrible danger that may not be prominent, but at the same time very dangerous on the path of Pilgrims to heavenly Kingdom. It is Remiss. To be remiss simply means lacking care or attention to duty. It is a negligent attitude to important things. Some Biblical heroes that fell off the track of obtaining the glorious crown missed it because they are remiss. Our Text today exposed us to the importance Jesus attached to the Fig season and thereby compared it to His second coming. Carelessness to observe these will easily make one miss out on the Lord’s second coming.

 Study Guide

Define Remiss according to our introduction.

Analyse how Eli the priest became a victim of remiss. ISam 2:22-24, ISam 3:16-18, ISam 4:16-18. Relate this to a Christian home.

Mention some of the serious precautions Christians must take on the path of God’s kingdom with reference to Luke 21:34 compare with Matt 24:38-39.

Highlight how best to deal with the virus of remiss in our Christian lives? ICor 8:9-12; 1Tim 4:11-16.

 Conclusion

Though an unpopular sinful habit, yet it poses threat on the path of PILGRIMS TO HEAVENLY KINGDOM. Let us all beware of all negligence to heavenly matters so as not to fail the test of the Lord’s second coming.
